Championship Golf and Top-Notch Entertainment

Neighborhood golfers appreciate Forest Oaks’ proximity to several golf courses including the famous Fred Couples Signature course at the private Twin Creeks Country Club and the fine golfing at Avery Ranch Golf Club, The Golf Club at Crystal Falls and Balcones Country Club.

Another major draw for the area is the 8,000-seat Cedar Park Center, a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment arena featuring today’s top performers, groups, and family entertainment. Just minutes from Forest Oaks, the Cedar Park Center is home to the Austin Toros basketball and the Texas Stars hockey teams.

Forest Oaks also offers its residents convenient access to a variety of nearby shopping and dining choices. In addition to a selection of major grocers nearby, Lakeline Mall, one of Austin’s biggest shopping destinations with over 150 stores, is within a 10-minute drive. At Lakeline, shoppers enjoy a spacious mall including anchor stores Dillard’s, Macy’s and Sears, among many other stores and restaurants.

Fishing on Lake Travis, an Awesome Skate Park and Highly Rated Schools

Homeowners are attracted to the abundance of outdoor recreation in Cedar Park.

For starters, Lake Travis is nearby with plenty of fishing docks and water sports to round out a fantastic day outdoors.

Even closer, the 54-acre Brushy Creek Sports Park is less than 5 minutes away from Forest Oaks. Along with a variety of sports fields, nine-hole disc golf course, hike-and-bike trails and a colorful playscape, the 15,000 square foot concrete “in-ground” skate park attracts many area youth and even adults.

The area’s highly regarded schools in the Leander Independent School District make Forest Oaks a popular choice for families. Students attend Charlotte Cox Elementary, Artie L. Henry Middle School and Vista Ridge High School. In 2011, the elementary and middle schools were rated as “Recognized” by the Texas Education Agency while Vista Ridge was rated as “Acceptable.”

“Among the key draws to the neighborhood are the schools,” says Mike Brymer, a music teacher who’s lived in Forest Oaks since 2000.  “The schools are really excellent. There are lots of things for kids to do in the neighborhood, too.”

Eleven Candles and a Lifetime of Memories

A youngster and his friends are celebrating his 11th birthday at the Forest Oaks clubhouse. All the kids from the neighborhood are at the party, where 11 candles burn brightly on the green and gold hockey-themed cake his mom lovingly baked and decorated for her son.

The grilled fajitas his dad cooked up were delicious, but the pre-teen is really excited about what comes next. After the cake is devoured and the presents are opened, the whole party will move to the nearby Cedar Park Center, where the kids will cheer on the Texas Stars hockey team as they take on a visiting squad from Milwaukee.

“We’re lucky to have such nice facilities near us,” says Brymer. “A lot of the folks in the neighborhood really enjoy the clubhouse and the other amenities. Plus having the Cedar Park Center so close by really gives us a lot of opportunities to get out and enjoy a variety of different events.”

Small Town Charm in a Picturesque Community

Filled with like-minded folks who want the best out of life — friends, family and good schools — Forest Oaks is a picturesque, tight-knit community with small town charm, paired with convenient and easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment.

“We are very near the toll road, so getting around town is easy,” says Brymer. “I can get to the grocery store without even leaving the neighborhood. There’s so much to do here and everyone is so nice. We absolutely love living here.”
