Austin Named Top Real Estate Market for 2020

Austin has been named the best city in the country for real estate investment in 2020 by Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization, and PwC, the professional services network once known as PricewaterhouseCoopers. The analysis considered many factors, including the city’s “Keep Austin Weird” slogan, our deep pool of talent, our “unique and popular” lifestyle, and the area’s ambitious commitment to business and real estate expansion.

Money Magazine says Round Rock Is Among the Top Places to Live

It’s not just Austin making “best of” lists these days. A new list from Money magazine places Round Rock at No. 2 on its annual Best Places to Live list of 100 American cities. The magazine reported that Round Rock is a “thriving community with a lot going for it.” Round Rock’s median household income of $82,229 and 60% homeownership were cited, as was its low employment rate and numerous employers.

New Tower Will House Part of Dell Medical School

The University of Texas at Austin and an associated nonprofit recently announced the development of a 17-story office building on Red River Street next to Waterloo Park. Much of the $160-million building will be used for Dell Medical School, though some space will be available for lease to private entities. The building is expected to anchor a new “innovation district” in Austin, and is expected to be completed by spring 2020.

Everyone’s Moving to Texas!

A report recently released by real estate analysis group Texas Realtors shows that Texas ranked third in the nation, behind Florida and California, for homes sold to international buyers. Texas accounted for 10 percent of all homes purchased by foreign buyers in the United States, with 18,310 home sales out of 183,100 nationwide. Many of the international buyers of Texas properties came from Mexico and India, according to the Texas International Homebuyers Report.

New HEB Coming to Lake Austin Boulevard

A soon-to-be-built HEB on Lake Austin Boulevard will include a multi-level design, underground parking, a coffee shop, a pharmacy and a barbecue joint. The restaurant will be True Texas BBQ, HEB’s house-brand barbecue eatery, and will include a full bar and indoor and outdoor seating. The new 110,000-square-foot HEB will replace a Randalls store that has occupied the 2.6-acre site since 1977

Gloria’s Glorious Condo is Available to Lease

Live like a celebrity for $10,200 a month in Sofia Vergara’s Los Angeles condo, which is available for lease. The “Modern Family” star’s home is on the ninth floor of a luxury high-rise building. The 2,071-square-foot unit has been renovated with “the finest quality in finishes and craftsmanship,” according to the leasing advertisement. It features a large living room, three bedrooms, and three bathrooms. It also offers “spectacular city views.”  Tenants enjoy building amenities such as 24-hour security, valet parking, concierge, gym, pool and sauna.
