Tempting Fresh Food — Fine-Dining or Casual
While downtown Austin offers a dizzying selection of excellent dining choices, there are plenty of nearby places to choose from. District Kitchen + Cocktails is a quintessential Alta Mira restaurant that captures the rustic liveliness of the neighborhood. The restaurant partners with local farmers to serve only the freshest, highest quality foods, complemented by an incredible assortment of wines, beers, and craft cocktails, all in a rustic-chic setting. A popular choice is Colorado lamb chops drizzled with a blueberry demi-glace and served with cranberry almond wild rice.
For a more casual meal, the Galaxy Café serves organic, locally farmed food in a sleek, unfussy atmosphere. Galaxy Café is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, with a brunch option on Sundays. One of the popular dinner options is prosciutto-grilled chicken, a free-range chicken breast basted in a homemade citrus marinade and generously topped with balsamic roasted tomatoes, thinly sliced prosciutto, and fresh basil.
