A Parent’s Guide to Public Schools in Circle C Ranch

Kiker Elementary School

Bernice Kiker Elementary School’s mission is simple: “Educate every child every day.” In doing so, the students, teachers, staff and parents have earned an “Exemplary” rating by the Texas Education Agency. Notable programs at Kiker include AISD’s Gifted and Talented program, Math Pentathlon, Rocket Readers and the Kiker Keynotes Choir. Kiker is located within the Circle C Ranch community at 5913 La Crosse Avenue.

Clayton Elementary School

The Clayton Cardinals have a strong history in the Math Pentathlon program. Crowned National Champions in 2008, the school continues to produce many medalists and Hall of Fame winners each year. Other noteworthy programs at Clayton include Students on Adventures in Reading (SOAR), the Green Apple Deposit Program and the OUTDOOR Discovery Program. Clint Small Middle School

Clint Small Middle School is an AISD GreenTech Campus. Both academic and elective offerings at the campus encourage students to learn about environmental issues and technology. Unique school features include an outdoor classroom, a greenhouse, a chicken coop, composting and recycling stations, a water harvesting and wind turbine, a Japanese garden, a robotics program and Project Lead the Way Pre-Engineering curriculum. Small Middle School is located at 4801 Monterey Oaks Boulevard, within a 10-minute drive of Circle C Ranch.

Gorzycki Middle School

Rated as “Recognized” by the TEA, Gorzycki Middle School’s students and staff live by the motto, “Excel Today, Lead Tomorrow.” Noteworthy programs at Gorzycki include Career and Tech Education, World Languages and the award-winning Tigers Athletics. The final line of the school’s spirit song says, “The future of Texas is us. For when we join forces, we live forever.” Gorzycki is located at 7412 West Slaughter Lane, just minutes from Circle C Ranch.

Bowie High School

Austin’s most highly rated high school in 2011 was Bowie High School, earning the TEA’s “Recognized” rating. The largest school in the Austin Independent School District and the second-largest secondary school in Central Texas, Bowie High School sits on 60 acres of land donated by Circle C Ranch in the late 1980s. Bowie offers college preparatory classes, Advanced Placement coursework, foreign languages, fine arts, Air Force JROTC and numerous athletic programs. Career and technology program offerings include Culinary Arts, Hotel/Resort Management, Agricultural Science and Computer Technology. Texas Monthly recently ranked Bowie as a 5-star school, making it a highly sought-after campus for parents and students alike.
