Carnaval Brasileiro is a party you don’t want to miss, presuming you love music, dancing and food. It’s a huge celebration of Brazil’s Carnaval. Expect extravagant costumes and a lot of fun.

Make breakfast about something more than protein and caffeine. The Austin Breakfast Bash for No Kid Hungry helps fund a campaign to feed more kids — and it fills your belly, too. Speaking of which, Chef Bryce Gilmore, of Odd Duck and Barleyswine fame, and Pastry Chef Amanda Rockman, of South Congress Hotel, will have more than 30 top chefs and bartenders to offer up the best bites and drinks.

Alright, you’ve been jogging for years. Maybe even crushed a few 5Ks. But are you ready for the big time distance? Austin’s Marathon and Half Marathon event gives you a chance to put one foot in front of another with some of the world’s best. And, if running isn’t your thing, there’s a concert and beer garden to jog around in.

Indulge your palate with Austin’s Oyster Festival. There are plenty of great restaurants in town where professional shuckers are passing out icy trays of oysters. But this is the event of the year for those who most love the salty treats.
