Brooklyn Heights Pizza — A Slice of New York Right Here in Texas

East Coast transplants — and New York-style pizza lovers in general — know how hard it can be to find an authentic Brooklyn-style pie in Austin. You know, the kind with a crust that is thin, rollable, and topped with just the right amount of marinara and other goodies.

Well, as the name boldly announces, Brooklyn Heights Pizza is proud to bring Brooklyn-style pizza home to hungry Austinites. This is a place that hand-tosses the specially prepared pizza dough, topsit with freshand flavorful ingredients, and bakes the pizzas into melted perfection in wood-fired ovens for an authentic Brooklyn pizza experience. The interior echoes a Brooklyn loft with exposed ductwork and warm, brick walls as well as numerous TVs to ensure you won’t miss a minute of the big game.

If pizza’s not your thing, this beloved eatery offers plenty of other classic Italian dishes, including calzones, paninis and pastas. Also on the sizeable menu: 18 appetizers, wings with your choice of 20 sauces, grilled salmon, and ribeye served two ways.  And you just have to save room for delicious tiramisu or cannoli.

Bigger is Better

The pizzeria is located in the Plaza at Avery Ranch shopping center, in north Austin, just north of the city of Round Rock. Seeing a need to increase the capacity of the very popular eatery, the owners recently completed an extensive expansion project, adding an extra 2,000 square feet to the restaurant.

A large bar area in the front of the restaurant offers a friendly gathering place for friends and neighbors. The dining area is large and accommodating, and there’s also an outdoor patio in the back, where diners enjoy their pizza and pasta al fresco.

In a twist that gives the restaurant a happy sense of familiarity and approachability, some of the pizzeria’s menu items are named for regular customers, such as Keri’s Spicy Pickle Chips and K.C’s Ribeye.

The pizzeria offers catering service for anything from small, intimate parties up to large, corporate events.

The Brooklyn Heights Pizza Challenge, Half-Price Wine and Live Music on the Weekends

For folks who enjoy putting their appetite and endurance to the test, the fun-loving restaurant challenges patrons to tackle the Brooklyn Heights Pizza Challenge. A gut-stretching eating event where one or two people attempt to finish off a 12-pound pie in one hour, diners who complete the feat win $200.

And for those with more reasonable ideas about their appetites, daily happy hours at the restaurant feature discounted appetizers and drinks. And on Wednesdays, diners can enjoy ahalf-priced bottle of wine with their meal.

Contributing to Austin’s reputation as the “Live Music Capitol of the World,” a DJ spins hit songs and customer requests Friday nights from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., and a live band entertains the crowd on Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
