Located a few minutes down O’Connor drive is an HEB grocery store; just a few more minutes beyond that is a Sprouts Farmers Market, with fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, gluten-free options and a bakery.
For retail shopping, the Round Rock Premium Outlet center is less than a 15-minute drive and features 125 outlet stores, including Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Coach, Converse, Gap Outlet, J.Crew, Michael Kors, Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s Outlet Store, and many more. Shoppers can also catch a bite to eat at Church’s Chicken, Phil’s Philly Grill and Asian Too eatery, among others.
Tex-Mex Comfort Food, Fresh Sushi and Upscale Seafood
Within a 15-minute radius of Cat Hollow, hungry residents can find a multitude of nearby restaurants, including a quick and easy meal or a quiet evening of fine dining. A staple in Austin, Chuy’s offers a full menu of Tex-Mex options, with a special focus on the Tex, such as the Chuy’s Special, which consists of homemade blue corn tortillas stacked with hand-pulled chicken, cheese and tomatillo sauce, and topped with sour cream.
Located just up the street from Cat Hollow is Akira’s Sushi Grill and Wok, offering reasonably priced sushi and Asian cuisine. Start off with some gyoza (pan fried dumplings), and then move on to the Honey Miso Salmon.
For a great fine dining experience, local foodies drive a short 10 minutes to enjoy Freda’s Seafood Grille, an upscale seafood and steak restaurant. The adventurous eater might want to try the Coast Paella, comprised of blackened shrimp, crawfish, chicken, Andouille sausage and calamari, with bell peppers and saffron rice. Steak lovers can’t go wrong with a staple like the center cut filet.
A Day at the Old Ballpark with the Round Rock Express
For a great evening or weekend afternoon at the ball park, local sports fans need only drive 20 minutes east to reach the famous Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express. This baseball team is part of the farm league for the Texas Rangers, and sees a lot of talent come up through its ranks. The stadium offers great seating, complete with an optional swimming and sports area for kids.
Finally, for the best in entertainment variety, the Cedar Park Center, an 8,000-seat, state-of-the-art sports and entertainment arena is also about a 20-minute drive. The Center hosts more than 130 events per year with concerts, family shows and sporting events, including the home games for the Austin Toros basketball and Texas Stars hockey teams.
