Five minutes from Wooten, the Village Shopping Center boasts a variety of restaurants, entertainment, and retail. Bartlett’s, a relatively new name in the neighborhood, is an independent, increasingly popular steakhouse and New American restaurant owned and operated by the same people who were in charge of the Houston’s restaurant franchise for decades. While the dark wood and high-backed booths and many favorites from the old menu remain, the new name signals several fresh innovations.
For instance, there’sa new gluten-free menu and a special “After 5” small-plates menu with delicious new starters such as artichokes with a tangy rémoulade sauce, and a half-dozen jumbo peel-and-eat shrimp with cocktail sauce. They also feature a full bar and avariety of local beers on tap.
Another local foodie favorite, the phenomenal Hopdoddy Burger Bar has opened a branch of its upscale-for-a-burger-place hotspots just minutes from the neighborhood. Diners enjoy delectable specialty burgers cooked the way they like. Signature burgers include the Primetime, with brie, truffle aioli and steak sauce, or the Buffalo Bill, with a rich bison patty, blue cheese and plenty of zingy hot sauce.
