As soon as summer begins, it feels like it’s already almost over. Maybe it’s all the outdoor activities — BBQs, hikes and lounging at a pool. Whatever the case, the Fourth of July is almost here.
Often times, your own backyard is the best place to spend the holiday. But, if you’re interested in fireworks, we’ve listed a couple of the most spectacular displays in Austin in our lineup of July events. And, of course, there are dozens of smaller displays in communities all across the region.
Later in the month, check out the third installment of Blues on the Green at Zilker Park where you can enjoy an evening of free music and community vibes.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the best events — and be sure to plot out any favorites on your calendar.
July 4

Willie Nelson may not have the stage stamina he used to, but he’s still making new music, packing venues and delighting fans new and old. At the end, the sky will light up with a fireworks display.
