The school year is already winding down and summer is just around the bend. Aside from Cinco de Mayo parties, what’s one to do this month before Memorial Day weekend arrives and summer comes blazing in?

If you love Austin’s creative spirit and want to meet some of the artists that make it the vibrant cultural place that it is today, consider taking a self-guided tour of artist studios during Big Medium’s West Austin Studio Tour, which runs through two weekends in the second half of the month.

You can also gear up for summer by taking a stroll through the Pecan Street Festival. The arts and crafts celebration on Sixth Street in downtown Austin is one of the best places to find interesting pieces for your home.
