Shopping is a snap for real estate owners in Mountain City. Nearby Kyle and Buda both offer plenty of options for dining, shopping and entertainment. In recent years, development of Kyle Crossing, The Village at Kyle and Kyle Marketplace have produced more than 2 million square feet of retail and commercial real estate at one intersection alone. Mountain City students attend Hays Consolidated Independent School District which exceeded all of the standards goals set by the Texas Education Agency in its 2013 accountability report. A “best practice” developed in Hays CISD for an accountability calendar that leads from PSAT administration to AP enrollment, has been recognized by the College Board and is being recommended for use in school districts nationwide. The district also offers students a performing arts center and an extensive list of extracurricular activities.
The area also has a quality healthcare infrastructure. Nearby Kyle, about five minutes away, features a wealth of medical resources for Mountain City residents. Kyle’s Seton Medical Center Hayes is an 84-bed general medical and surgical hospital. Other medical service providers in Kyle include Texas Urgent Care, Central Texas Medical Associates.
