Quail Creek’s enviable position in central north Austin puts it within easy reach of downtown and many of Austin’s best shopping centers and restaurants.
For starters, shopping for groceries and daily needs is quick and easy with a renovated local HEB grocery store and Target conveniently located right in the neighborhood. For more extensive shopping lists, there are seven major shopping centers within about 15 minutes or less of the neighborhood. All together, these seven shopping centers offer 700 fine department stores, retailers, restaurants, and movie theaters.
A Day of Fun, Food and Shopping at The Domain
Arguably Austin’s premiere shopping center, The Domainis just a few minutes from home featuring a variety of upscale retail, dining and entertainment options. Stores include Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Barney’s, Macy’s, Coach, Sephora and many other fashionable boutiques and shops.
The Domain is also home to noteworthy restaurants such as NoRTH, The Daily Grill, Blackfinn’s, Maggiano’s Little Italy, and McCormick & Schmick’s. Also popular, the California Pizza Kitchen keeps happy customers coming back for more with tasty signature dishes like their spicy barbecue chicken pizza.
Even going to the movies at the Domain is something special. The center’s 9-screen iPic theater is decked with posh leather seats, while the upgraded seats in the premium section recline, are accompanied by side tables, and come with a fresh blanket and pillow. The “concession stand” is a small restaurant that sells chef-prepared dishes such as ceasar salads, chicken kabobs, coconut shrimp, and angus beef sliders — and there is a bar that serves sophisticated cocktails. Want dinner and a movie? Patrons take their meal to their seats to enjoy during the show.
Big As Yo’ Face Burritos, Chinese BBQ, and Tapioca Pearl Bubble Tea
Quail Creek is also well located close to any of the restaurants downtown or out the 183 corridor to Cedar Park, and that means local residents have a choice of scores and scores of restaurants that showcase many cuisines, styles, prices, and atmospheres.
One foodie favorite is the local Chuy’s, Austin’s best-loved Tex-Mex restaurant, just 5 minutes from home. There is no place else quite like Chuy’s for their “Big as Yo’ Face” burritos and frosty margaritas in a high-energy atmosphere with cheerful service. The restaurant is famous for their annual Hatch chili pepper celebration, their one-of-a-kind creamy jalapeno sauce, and excellent fajitas. Chuy’s is a great place to take the whole family or to meet friends who share a zestfor both life and also delicious, gooey Tex-Mex.
Five minutes south, in a small shopping center adjacent to Target, there is a cluster of Asian shopping and dining options, highlighted by the ever-popular Chinese Supermarket, and a handful of excellent restaurants. Many Austinites recognize Din Ho’s Chinese BBQ as being one of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Next door is CoCo’s Café, a fun, playful Taiwanese diner — and also reigning king of tapioca pearl bubble teas. There are two more must-visit restaurants in the same center, Pho Van and Sunflower, which serve different styles of delicious Vietnamese food in two distinct atmospheres.
