Retail Roundup: Estates of Westlake Area Shopping, Dining and Entertainment

Wolf Ranch Town Center, about 20 minutes from the Estates of Westlake, is an open-air shopping center with 80 retail stores and restaurants including Target, Ross, Best Buy, TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, Office Depot, DSW Shoe Warehouse and Old Navy.

Some of the more popular restaurants at Wolf Ranch include Zio’s Italian Kitchen, Chick-Fil-A, Carls Jr, Panda Express, Milano Trattoria, Firehouse Subs, Mama Fu’s and Taco Cabana. Residents love Wolf Ranch’s nature trail, ponds, and scenic areas that showcase some of the natural Central Texas Hill Country’s beauty.

Round Rock Premium Outlets, also about 20 minutes away, hosts more than 125 upscale retailers featuring such high-quality brands as Burberry, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Ann Taylor and The Gap. Shoppers can also catch a bite to eat at Church’s Chicken, Phil’s Philly Grill and Asian Too, among others. Across the street from the mall is the only IKEA in the Austin metro area.

Dining the Hill Country Way

Hometown hospitality is evident at a variety of barbecue joints, small cafes and locally owned diners. BB’s Diner serves down-home Texas favorites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast options are rich with eggs, biscuits, gravy, bacon, and other classics. Lunch offerings include tasty sandwiches, hearty entrée salads, and a handful of lunch platters. For dinner, locals rave about the chicken-fried steak, hamburgers, salads, and fried pork chops. BB’s is located in a quaint mission-style building, and the interior is full of warm woods and a comfortable atmosphere.

Georgetown’s Hello Sweetie barbecue restaurant is another popular choice for Estates of Westlake residents. The menu features mouthwateringly tasty spicy pulled pork or brisket sandwiches, baked potatoes, and more. But that’s just half of the magnetic attraction this place has. They make their own ice cream and offer it in delicious malts, shakes, banana splits, or over hot brownies.

Grape Creek Vineyards, located in a beautifully renovated building on the Georgetown’s Town Square is another local favorite.  Their large outdoor patio is furnished with cooling water misters that help to keep tastings cool even in the heat of Texas summers. Their wines have won 100 medals in the last two years in competitions in California, New York, Ontario, and Texas, with their Mosaic wine taking the Double Gold award at this year’s New World Wine Competition.
