The Summit Police Department invites members of Summit and nearby communities to participate in Making a Difference Community Day in honor of fallen Police Detective Matthew Tarentino. A parade kicks off the event, which also includes live music, food trucks, and a silent auction.

Get a jump on Halloween by trick-or-treating with local businesses. Children wearing costumes should look for the stores in downtown New Providence with an orange pumpkin in the window or on the door. This is a rain-or-shine event.

Time to decorate those great orange gourds! Purchase a small pumpkin for $2 at the Summit Farmers Market, bring it to the painting booth, and Summit Downtown, Inc. will provide painting supplies for free.

Shop for holiday gifts or spoil yourself at the Summit Free Public Library’s donated jewelry sale. In addition to earrings, necklaces, and watches, odds and ends for crafters are available. All sales will benefit the Friends of the Summit Library. Jewelry donations also gratefully accepted.
