The restaurateurs behind the immensely popular Shady Grove and Chuy’s Comida Deluxe opened Hula Hut, a little under 15 minutes away from Davenport Rim. It offers outdoor seating on a pier built out over Lake Austin in a fun, campy resort style.
Known as “Mexican Food with a Surfer Twist” there are specialty dishes as well as good old American comfort foods. The Tiki-Mex cuisine includes delectable fare such as the Coconut Fried Shrimp, Mango-Poblano Chile Quesadillas, Tubular Tacos and their delectable Hawaiian Fajitas. The Hawaiian Fajitas is a favorite served with charbroiled beef or chicken glazed in a Polynesian plum sauce with red bell peppers, green onions and Hawaiian pineapple. Comfort foods include burgers, sandwiches, salads and veggie burgers. And their famous, delicious margaritas are a perfect complement to the beautiful lake view.
