Pflugerville’s Favorite Golf Course and Sun-Soaked Fun on the Lake

The Blackhawk Golf Club is Pflugerville’s favorite golf course, located just minutes from the community. Blackhawk is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, a fully stocked pro shop, and a driving range and restaurant. The Blackhawk course, designed by Charles Howard and U.S. Open Women’s Champion Hollis Stacy, follows the natural features of the land and gentle rolling hills, making it a challenge for all levels of players.

Practically living on top of Lake Pflugerville, a day on the lake is a popular pastime.  Essentially a reservoir to provide city residents with drinking water, Lake Pflugerville covers 180 acres and is a favorite destination for kayaking as well as wind and kite surfing.

Stocked with 60,000 fish at its inception, the lake is a perfect place for fishermen to test their skills, and children to be introduced to the sport. The lake park includes a 3-mile trail, playground, boat launch, a pavilion and a beach area.

“Lake Pflugerville grows in popularity each year,” says Pamela Cosel, marketing and special events coordinator for the city of Pflugerville. “There’s a lot to do at the lake, and the city is currently studying what other amenities can be added to the site in future years.”
