Belterra: “It’s Beautiful Out Here!”
Runners jog along the shaded walking trails of Belterra, a master-planned community situated deep in the Texas Hill Country. Bicyclists occasionally speed by, their brightly colored jerseys a blur of effortless motion against the pristine landscape’s plush green grass and blooming native plants.
Meanwhile, the heart of the neighborhood, Belterra’s Recreation and Swim Center, is a hub of leisure activity. A rainbow of balloons fill the pool area’s guest house, inviting the neighbors into a child’s birthday party. Parents and their children enjoy the day together, sunbathing on the resort-style community pool’s beachfront entryway or splashing in the pool’s shallow end, playing under the mushroom-shaped water fountain.
“We just moved into this community earlier this year,” says neighborhood resident Wanida Scholl at a neighborhood event. “Everyone here is super nice. There are a lot of families living here in Belterra and even more empty-nesters are moving to the area to be near their kids. Not to mention, there are 30 miles of trails and lots of green space.” A guest from the party walks by to confirm Scholl’s enthusiasm. “It’s beautiful out here!”

Exemplary Schools and Great Fishing
In addition to its convenient location, outdoor enthusiasts and folks who seek peace and quiet are drawn to Belterra for its combination of natural beauty, extensive recreational amenities and quality schools.
Just across the street from the Belterra Welcome Center is the community pond where a father is fishing with his son, his face beaming with pride. “Belterra is the best neighborhood I have ever lived in, and I’ve lived all over,” says Reny Aniline, a Belterra homeowner who loves spending time in the great outdoors with his 6-year-old son, Tommy. “I came to Texas from Southern California and this was the one neighborhood that gave me that outdoor feel I was looking for. Everything I enjoy doing outdoors is right here in this community.” His son loves to fish at the pond stocked with perch. After snagging his 10th perch of the day, Tommy says living in Belterra is “good!”
Families with children in Belterra enjoy schools in the highly regarded Dripping Springs Independent School District, including Rooster Springs Elementary School, which is located inside of Belterra and within walking distance from many of the homes. Dripping Springs Middle School and Dripping Springs High School are the secondary schools for the area and both are located within a short 5-minute drive of the community.
Aniline and his neighbors have relocated from around the state and across the country for their chance to live an active, outdoor lifestyle with the capital city conveniently nearby. “The miles of wooded trails, the residents are so friendly and the elementary school is exemplary,” Aniline says with a genuine smile. “We never want to leave.”
