Fun Community Events, Plenty of Shopping and Highly Regarded Schools

Construction in the Anderson Mill area began in the early 1960s and continues today, resulting in a wide range of home styles.  Many of the older homes in the area have been remodeled to include modern amenities. Anderson Mill is a sizable neighborhood that is divided into smaller communities, each served by one of three separate homeowner association groups. All the HOA groups promote safe, family-friendly communities and sponsor fun events throughout the year.

Resident Scott Rewis and his young daughter participate often in various community activities. “Our family’s favorite is the annual Easter egg hunt,” says Rewis. “We also enjoy the schools, day camps and swim team.“

Rewis’ daughter is among the numerous children who call Anderson Mill home. The 8-year-old and her friends attend schools in the Round Rock Independent School District. Depending on which part of the neighborhood they live in, youngsters attend Anderson Mill, Purple Sage, Spicewood or Forest North elementary schools. Middle schoolers go to Grisham or Deer Park, and high school kids attend either Westwood or McNeil high school. Nearly all of these schools were rated either “Exemplary” or “Recognized” by the Texas Education Agency.

The neighborhood is also close to excellent shopping opportunities at the Arboretum and Lakeline Mall, and a wealth of dining options are located within a convenient distance.

“We’re surrounded by schools — schooling is easy in this neighborhood,” says Rewis, who’s lived in the area for more than two decades. “Plus, there’s so many options for shopping or eating out. That’s why we’ve enjoyed living here for so long.”

A Community Full of Big Perks

Convenience, outdoor recreation and friendly neighbors are among the most-loved characteristics of Anderson Mill. But most of all, homeowners here like the wide variety of people who call this area home. They also enjoy the sense of community fostered by the broad range of neighbors.

“It’s a community here. You meet really nice people. You can be walking and say, ‘Hello, how’s it going’ to a complete stranger,” says tennis coach and 16-year resident Vinson Nguyen. “We also like the pool and the fact that people take care of their yards and the parks.”

Along with a comforting sense of community, Anderson Mills offers its residents plenty of nearby shopping and dining, good schools and a huge range of both outdoor and indoor activities. “There’s a lot of stuff to do, and you’ve got everything you need right here in the neighborhood,” says resident Amanda Quintero. “It’s one of the big perks of living in this area.”
