Situated just 15 minutes southwest of downtown Austin, and a few minutes farther from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Hielscher is part of Austin’s well regarded Circle C neighborhood, a sprawling master-planned community which encompasses dozens of smaller subdivisions. Part of the area’s attraction is the abundance of nearby shopping, dining, and entertainment, as well as recreational amenities.
“A big determining factor for us when we were looking to relocate to Austin was the ease of getting downtown,” says Ivey. “I can get downtown quickly and easily from Hielscher. There’s so much access to everything that’s fun in Austin.”
Originally developed around the “family friendly” theme, homes in Hielscher were built between 1998 and 2007 and range in size from 2,300 square feet to just under 5,000 square feet. “The generous size of the homes easily accommodates families,” says Ivey. “The affordability is a draw, too. It’s like no other neighborhood.”
Fireworks, Movie Night and Award-Winning Schools
Community events organized by the Circle C Homeowners Association bring families together year-round. Kids cherish the neighborhood’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Show, as well as the Children’s Holiday Party held each December. “Meet Your Neighbors” events and movie nights are also eagerly anticipated Hielscher traditions, as residents look forward to enjoying time with friends from school and neighbors down the block.
Circle C’s two swimming complexes are also popular gathering places. Moms and dads are happy to cool off and chat with neighbors as they watch the kids splashing with friends. Serious swimmers work on improving their lap times in the Olympic-size pool and resident tennis players challenge each other to friendly matches on any of Circle C’s eight courts. The semi-private Grey Rock Golf Club adds a country club flair to the neighborhood’s already appealing lifestyle.
While there’s no shortage of recreational amenities, most Hielscher homeowners have one overriding objective: enjoying a safe, convenient and entertaining atmosphere that’s been created for families. Local parents are proud of the neighborhood’s award-winning and highly ranked public schools. In 2011, the Texas Education Agency rated Kiker Elementary an “Exemplary” school and Clayton Elementary a “Recognized” school. Both elementary schools are conveniently located within Circle C Ranch.
“It kind of takes you back to the ’50s,” says Ivey. “Not only is the quality of education great, you can still walk your kids to school.”
A Close-Knit Community for Kids of All Ages
Hielscher’s prime location within the desirable Circle C neighborhood makes it a popular choice for an active lifestyle with all the recreational options and other amenities a sizeable master-planned community has to offer. With so many choices, like tennis, golf, bicycling, swimming or just a relaxed stroll through the area’s quiet streets, homeowners have plenty to enjoy in Hielscher.
“We’ve got two pools with plans for two more,” says Ashley Gladden, Community Center Coordinator at Circle C Homeowners Association. “We’ve got pocket parks throughout the neighborhoods and our common areas are all landscaped nicely. This is truly a close-knit community. Neighbors want to keep each other informed and we look out for each other.”
